Credits never expire.
Payment safe and secure with world leader Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe - they never touch this site.
stripeFor purchases of credits on playstockfish.com
Credits are non-refundable, and they never expire. Once bought they stay on your account until you spend them, however long that takes.
A credit is site credit for the paid features on playstockfish.com, such as coaching, game analysis and the other tools that use AI. It is not money, has no cash value, and cannot be exchanged for cash.
Credits are sold as digital content that is available immediately, so a purchase is final and is not refundable, whether the credits have been spent or not. If a purchase was charged in error - a double charge, or credits that never arrived - contact us and we will put it right.
Credits do not expire. They stay on your account for as long as the account exists, and they are not reduced by leaving them unused. Deleting your account gives up any credits still on it.
Credits belong to the account that bought them. They cannot be transferred, sold or shared between accounts, and they cannot be reinstated on a new account.
Prices, pack sizes and what each feature costs in credits can change. A change never takes credits off an account you have already paid for - a balance bought at one price stays yours in full.
Payments are taken by Stripe. Card details go straight to Stripe and are never held by this site. Your card statement shows the charge under our Stripe account name.
If a payment has been taken and the credits have not arrived, or anything else about an order looks wrong, use the contact page and we will sort it out.
Play Stockfish, challenge our AI engine Nexuron, get coached on every move, analyze your Chess.com or Lichess games, estimate your ELO, take on AI models in the Arena, solve chess puzzles, practice your openings, and replay the games of the grandmasters. Use our features and improve your game and ELO rating
PlayStockfish lets you play chess online against Stockfish, the world's strongest open-source chess engine, with no sign-up required. Pick a difficulty that matches your level, from beginner-friendly bots to full engine strength, and improve your game one match at a time.
Fancy a different opponent? Play Nexuron, our dedicated AI chess engine created entirely with AI prompts. It thinks inside your own browser, and an adjustable search-depth slider lets you choose exactly how far ahead it calculates.
Want to know why you lost? Coaching mode plays a normal game while a second Stockfish, running at maximum skill, reviews every move you make — blunders are highlighted on the board and the tactics you missed are drawn on as arrows.
Already played the game somewhere else? Analyze any chess game by entering your Chess.com or Lichess username — or by pasting a PGN. Stockfish 18 reviews every move at full strength and marks the inaccuracies, mistakes, blunders and missed wins, scores both players for accuracy, and then hands your own mistakes back to you as practice positions.
Want more than a single game? Estimate your chess ELO rating with our 3-game rating test, sharpen your tactics with chess puzzles (mate-in-2 to mate-in-5), and watch or challenge large language models in the AI Chess Arena.
Or learn from the best there has ever been: Grandmaster Games holds tens of thousands of games by more than eighty world champions and grandmasters, from Morphy and Steinitz to Carlsen and Gukesh. Pick one player to browse a whole career, or pick two to see every game they played against each other, then play through any of them move by move.
Yes. Playing against Stockfish runs directly in your browser. There is nothing to download and no account is needed to start a game.
At full strength Stockfish is far stronger than any human world champion, but you never have to face that. The difficulty slider scales it from a gentle beginner bot up to full engine strength, so you can play chess against the computer at whatever level gives you a real game.
Yes – that is what online chess coaching mode is for. A second Stockfish engine, running at maximum strength, reviews every move you make as you play: blunders flash red on the square, the tactic you missed is drawn as an arrow, and you can ask the AI coach to explain any position in plain English.
The Estimate My ELO test has you play three games against Stockfish. Your moves are analyzed for accuracy and weighed against the level you were playing, producing an estimated chess rating you can compare with your Chess.com or Lichess rating.
Yes. Analyze Game imports your recent games with just your username — or a pasted PGN — and grades every move at full engine strength: inaccuracies, mistakes, blunders and missed wins, plus an accuracy score for both players.
